Este tour formó parte del ciclo Birthday Series 2012-2013 que la Fundación Joaquín Achúcarro organizó como celebración del 80º cumpleaños del Maestro Achúcarro. En su nombre, y como pianista apadrinada de la Fundación, tuve el privilegio de ofrecer tanto masterclasses como recitales en universidades y diferentes instituciones de las ciudades de San Antonio y Houston (Texas, EEUU), durante el mes de diciembre de 2012. El tour arrancó en San Antonio con una masterclass en la University of Texas at San Antonio, y un recital en el Instituto Cultural de México con las Variaciones Goldberg de J. S. Bach como programa. En Houston, tras una masterclass en St. Thomas University, tuvo lugar un recital en The Museum of Fine Arts como inauguración de la exposición “Portrait of Spain: Masterpieces from The Prado”, donde sonó una selección de la Suite Española de Isaac Albéniz.
This tour was a part of the Joaquín Achúcarro Foundation’s Birthday Series 2012-2013 honoring Maestro Achúcarro’s 80th Birthday. As one of the Foundation’s legacy pianists, I had the privilege of performing a series of recitals and master classes in universities and other institutions of San Antonio and Houston (Texas, USA) in December, 2012. This tour started in San Antonio with a masterclass at the University of Texas at San Antonio and a solo recital at the Instituto Cultural de México performing the Goldberg Variations by J. S. Bach. In Houston, after a masterclass at St. Thomas University, a solo recital was celebrated at the The Museum of Fine Arts as an opening of the exhibition “Portrait of Spain: Masterpieces from The Prado”, with a selection of the Suite Española by Isaac Albéniz as a program.
